Awesome tips! I just recently bought an expensive Japanese maple and they are set to deliver it to my place tomorrow. I sure hope they are transporting it the right way since Japanese maple are one of the more fragile trees.

I bought some only had five seeds n none never came up u til recently out of no where it came up . Didn’t know exactly what it was had use plant identity to find out I’m so excited …. Cuz I have no seeds left n gave up but I’m happy NOW!

We used to use Stepables brand, but it has been replaced by Little Prince at our local store. We like to support Oregon businesses, so we are glad both companies are based here! We bought a bunch of your ground covers this year. The area we want to cover is huge, so we'll come back every year.

I recently had this in Japan and it was amazing. You have to harvest the bamboo the second you see the sprouts come up from the ground, then dig down 6-8 inches. If you wait until the bamboo has grown that length above ground, it's already too woody (that's what I've been told). If you have bamboo growing in your backyard, you can harvest this indefinitely, because you know how fast that bamboo grows.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

Our soil is nothing but those rocks. Top soil is about an unch thick and then you hit the rock. I hired a backhoe to dig trenches for the first beds, now I just build them on top out of leaves a horse manure. I want to use part of the rocks, that's why I'm here, but I want to do more of a permanent walls with cement. Too bad that our town's regulations don't allow rock fence. My dream is to have a walled in garden, but not where we are, I guess. I absolutely love the edging yoi have here! It looks great!

Is there a similar program for a small community park?

I have a grape vine on an arbor (planted in spring 2021) and this year it has gone crazy. This is the first year I have grape. Can I prune it now with all the leaves and grapes or should I wait until fall? These grapes are very small green grapes but not sour. They never get very big so I don't know what kind they are but they are sweet. And help would be appreciated.

Moved from the Denver area where I had converted my yard to water wise plants and it's so cool to see coneflowers and wine cups and so many other similar plants that I had back at my old garden. I miss it dearly and will definitely be stopping by the demonstration garden soon with my notebook.

I have been using my walking tractors for 7 years now. Versatile, you bet! For the person who owns 4 acres or less they are a very viable "way to go". I own the rotary plow, tiller, 5' sickle bar mower, 5' hay rake/tedder, the small baler, driven wheel trailer, brush hog, finish mower, CAEB dump cart, a "powered wheel barrow", chipper/shredder, and power harrow. Rent or hire your land clearing job and then get to farming with your walking tractor! Everything is built so that it should last your lifetime! As Joel at Earthtools says "farm with your feet on the ground!"

I live in the Bavarian Alps and for sure rocks are my biggest crop. I call them the alpine potatoes! I still enjoy finding the big ones they are quite useful!

This seems like a great idea! I used to use twine to do a square foot garden, but I think a cat did get through that. The squares obviously left more room than the zigzagging. Has anyone had any sucess with this method?

Thank you for this vid. I have a Terra cotta pot like this and didn’t know it was for strawberries. I’ve bought some plants and want to attempt to grow Juneberries. A few questions. How do I keep the soil from spilling out of the holes? Also what’s the best way to water to get the plants at the bottom. My pot doesn’t jut out on the sides with the little pocket it’s just the round holes.
